Graduation in 1995.

After several research projects on functional foods and probiotics, she received her PhD at the same university on the effects of trans fatty acids on vascular function in 2001.
Present Research activities:
From 2001 to 2008 she was a member of the scientific staff of the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics (UMC Utrecht), where she was involved in the development of evidence-based dietary guidelines and coordinating and teaching a facultative course on Preventive and clinical nutrition for medical students.

She now works for the Department of Human Nutrition of Wageningen University as a teacher and for the Alliance Wageningen University – Ziekenhuis Gelderse Vallei as a coordinator of research projects.
